With Cirrus, the third generation of cab-forward engineering, Chrysler definitively own the rights to functional luxury.

Body rigidity and suspension component arrangement are the essential mechanical determinants of exceptional handling and ride. Cirrus is the sports sedan that embodies them. Because Cirrus has a wide body, its two rails are straight, fore to aft, not splayed out to accomidate the power train. A cross car beam supports the instrument panel and adds still more structural stiffness. To create a rigid body (and to minimize noise), super computers were enlisted to exhaustively analyze the interaction of body panels and parts. Overall Cirrus' bending stiffness was improved by 52% and its torsional stiffness by 24%, over its Chrysler sedan predecessor. Cirrus' Unique modified double-wishbone suspension system satisfies the driver's demand for responsive handling, and the passenger's desire for smooth sailing. With Cirrus, qualities of ride and handling feel can be fine-tuned independently, neither being compromised by the other.
